Keep It Zero
Qatalum's testament to Safety and Sustainability.
Problem
Qatar's extreme summer heat poses significant risks to workers, especially those working outdoors or in high-heat environments. Heat stress incidents, including heat stroke, can severely impact workers' health, safety, and productivity. Despite previous campaigns, sustaining awareness and encouraging proactive measures to mitigate heat stress is a persistent challenge. The company's objective is to maintain its heat stress incident-free record while promoting safety practices, ensuring engagement across all levels of employees, and providing practical solutions to avoid heat-related mishaps.
Solution
The "Keep It Zero" Campaign is a comprehensive initiative designed to address the risks of heat stress among workers during Qatar’s intense summers. With a focus on maintaining a heat-stress incident-free record, the campaign combines education, engagement, and practical solutions to promote safety and prevention. It begins with a launch video featuring real stories from six individuals, emphasizing the importance of collective action against heat stress. This is complemented by a leadership-driven "I’m Doing My Part" video series, showcasing C-Suite commitment to safety. The campaign leverages visual reinforcements such as wallpapers, screensavers, posters, and branded cubes in key locations to maintain awareness across all employee levels. Educational components, including Heat Stress 101 workshops and informational emailers, empower workers with practical knowledge to identify and prevent heat-related incidents. Employee engagement is further enhanced through feedback surveys and the distribution of budget-friendly morale-boosting gift items. By deploying a phased approach, the campaign ensures consistent messaging and impact throughout the summer. April and May will focus on awareness-building through videos and visual elements, while subsequent months will incorporate workshops, surveys, and additional branded materials. This strategic mix of storytelling, leadership endorsement, and educational tools ensures a safer, more resilient workforce in the face of Qatar’s challenging heat conditions.
